Beauty and the Beast is my all time favorite movie. My childhood bedroom was painted yellow with character stickers on the walls, complete with Beauty and the Beast bedding.

There is no scene better than when all the kitchen crew gathers together to sing Be Our Guest! “Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious! Don’t believe us? Ask the dishes!” When we have eaten at Be Our Guest at WDW we have all faught over who got to eat the grey stuff cupcake.

Since I have seen the tutorials for grey stuff all over pinterest, I really wanted to try it. So on our last vacation, I attempted to put it together. Note to self… reread the instructions before you get started! It turned out brown. Not grey. I thought that the instructions said to use half chocolate pudding! Oh well, it still tasted delicious.

This really is super easy once you actually read your directions.

Ingredients:

• box of vanilla pudding
• 2 c cold milk
• 8 oz Cool whip, thawed, or fresh whipped cream
• Chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
• Pearl sprinkles

Method:

Crush 12-16 sandwich cookies in a zip top bag. Mix vanilla pudding and cold milk together. Add 4 to 6 crushed cookies and stir well to incorporate. Fold ⅔ of the whipped cream into pudding. Laying remaining crushed cookies with grey stuff in 4 glasses or bowls. Top with pearl sprinkles and remaining whipped cream if desired.

Tips: To make it even easier, you could add your crushed cookies to milk a few hours before, so that they were really melded into the milk, giving you the perfect grey color! Try cleaning out a spaghetti sauce jar to store your cookie milk while it infuses. After you dump it into the pudding, you can use that same jar to shake up some fresh whipped cream. Just add heavy whipping cream and a bit of powdered sugar, shake until fluffy, and enjoy!
