Quick Unicorn Mickey Cinnamon Rolls

Hot, fresh cinnamon rolls
Slathered in unicorn icing and sprinkles! Oh me. Oh my. Get into my belly now!

Ingredients:

Rolls:
2 c flour
2 ½ tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp nonpareils
⅓ c shortening
¾ c milk
½ stick butter, softened
¾ c brown sugar
1 T cinnamon
Optional hand full of crushed pecans or walnuts
Icing:
1 c powdered sugar
Tiny Pinch salt
¼ tsp orange extract
Milk
Nonpareils
Food coloring

Method:

Cut salt, baking powder, and nonpareils into flour. Then cut shortening in. Gently stir milk in, mixing minimally.
Flour surface, fold dough a few times. Cut in half. Working with each half separately:
Roll into a rectangle, about 8in x 10in
Top with half the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Add nuts if desired.
Cut into 4 pieces length-wise. Roll one strip up for each ear. For the head, roll one strip up, then roll the next strip around it.  Place them into a Mickey shape on a parchment coated baking sheet. Press down a bit.

Bake in a 475F preheated oven for 10 minutes, or until golden, brown, and delicious.
In a bowl, combine powdered sugar, salt, orange extract, and milk until smooth. Add 2 drops on food coloring for each color. We used purple, pink, and blue.
Stir carefully each color. Do your best to not mix it with the other colors.
Drizzle that gorgeous icing all over your cinnamon roll. Sprinkle with more nonpareils.
Now get ready for Instagram praise! This baby is ready for the spotlight. And it is super yummy, too!
