Update: June 9,2019
You want a quiet, quaint place to have a nice breakfast? The Wave might just be the place for you.

The Wave is located inside the Contemporary resort, on the first floor. It is in a back corner, behind the check- in desks, which makes for a nice quiet location. The Wave is open for breakfast from 7:30-11:00 AM. You can order off their menu, or you can try their buffet option. If you do go with the buffet, please note, you won’t be able to see it when you first walk in. It is secluded behind a wall. The nice thing about having a menu and a buffet is that you can get away with spending less money by ordering off the menu for picky eaters or those with smaller appetites.

It is a smaller buffet then we have seen at any other restaurant on Disney property, but they still cover most of the bases. Also the pans of food they have out are smaller as well. For example, they only have about six of their eggs Benedict’s out at a time. In my opinion this is a very big plus! With the smaller portions means the buffet stays fresher, and hotter.

Some of the stand outs include the Lime Eggs Benedict, Bacon Cheddar Grits, and mini Greek Yogurt Parfaits. The Eggs Bennie’s have a very nice twist. They add lime to their hollandaise sauce which lightens up the dish. The poached egg is cooked to perfection. The English muffin is nice and fluffy , which contrast to the rich sauce and creamy eggs, making an altogether yummy eggs Benedict.

They have bacon cheddar grits. These Grits are straight out of a Disney Princess Fairytale! They are so stick to your ribs, creamy, buttery, smooth, and stick with you till tomorrow amazing.

Lastly, for this post anyway, their Greek Yogurt. The yogurt is a very nice savory, plain yogurt with three different flavor combinations. While we were there, there was a honey vanilla, passionfruit coconut, and banana caramel. With the three different toppings you should be able to enjoy at least one or two, if not all of their selection. Don’t worry, they are tiny, so you can grab several.

If you are interested in trying the grits, I have included our recipe. Enjoy!
If you use your Disney Visa, you can receive 10% off of your bill. Don’t forget to remind your server so they can update the bill. If you are using the Disney Dining Plan, The Wave is 1 Table Service Credit.

The Wave of American Flavors inspired Bacon Cheddar Grits: These grits are creamy, cheesy, salty, and buttery. They stick to your ribs and keep you warm, full, and happy until lunch. I put it together the night before and microwave them for about 5 minutes. Quick and delicious! Or try our slow cooker version.
Ingredients
2 cups water
1/2 cup 5 minute grits
1/2 tsp kosher salt plus more to taste
2 Tbs crumbled bacon
1 cheddar cheese stick, or about 1 oz chunk of cheddar cheese If desired, top with
1 Tbs butter
1 Tbs crumbled bacon
1/2 oz. shredded cheddarMethod
1. In a medium sized microwave dish, combine water, salt, grits. Throw in the refrigerator over night.
2. Microwave for about 5 minutes, stopping to stir every minute or so. You will know it is ready once it is thick and creamy.
3. Add the cheese stick to the grits. Cover and let rest for a minute. Stir well to combine.
4. Top with butter, cheese, and bacon Serves 1 super hungry person
