Our first trip to Disney World was when E. Mouse was 14 months old. She was still breastfeeding at that time and I was pretty nervous about nursing in public. A friend of mine told me about the Baby Care Centers at the four parks and my fears were relieved!
What is a Baby Care Center? It is Disney’s answer to “What to do with my cranky baby?” There is a dark quiet room with rocking chairs to nurse in. A room full of high chairs for feeding snacks. A big diaper changing area with plenty of comfortable changing tables. A little shop with the all the essentials. They are all staffed by cast members who are knowledgeable and very helpful.
Every Baby Care Center is located next to a first aid station and mosquito prevention station (aka Bug spray).
Animal Kingdom

On Discovery island, near Starbucks and the bridge to Africa.
Epcot

On the island behind Mexico, near future world.
Hollywood Studios

As soon as you enter the park on the left side.
Magic Kingdom

Between Casey’s corner and the Crystal Palace.
Throughout that trip, and generally over time, I have gotten more comfortable with feeding in public and have learned a few things. First, depending on where you are in the park, it can be an insanely long hike to get back to the Baby Care Center. Thankfully, secondly, people at Disney are extremely kind about breastfeeding. No one has ever said anything rude, looked at me funny, or made me uncomfortable. Finally, there are so many amazing rides and shows to breastfeed at. Chances are, no one ever realizes you are feeding, anyway! Here are some of my favorites:
Animal Kingdom
Finding Nemo, the Musical
Na’vi River Journey
I wouldn’t recommend feeding on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Far too bouncy!
There are many trails to wander that are relatively secluded with plenty of benches!
Epcot
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
Living with the Land
Journey Into Imagination with Figment
Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros
Reflections of China
Impressions de France
O Canada!
Hollywood Studios
Beauty and the Beast- Live on Stage
Magic Kingdom
Pirates of the Caribbean
“it’s a small world”
Under the Sea~ Journey of The Little Mermaid
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
Have you ever nursed at Disney? Did you have a go-to place? What are your thoughts?
