A quick, delicious, magical sandwich, perfectly crisp on any hotel iron!

The thought of bringing your own food on vacation can seem daunting, labor intensive, and extremely boring. We have a super simple and extra delicious recipe to quickly rescue you from the “I don’t wanna” blues. You can even make it at home without heating the house up, so it is perfect for hot days. All you need is an iron, foil, and a few sandwich ingredients!

Grab your foil, cutter, and bread. Push the cutter into the bread only about half way.

When you remove it, you should see the imprint in your bread.

Now flip your bread over and repeat on the other slice.

All ready to start adding ingredients!

I call this the Orlando. Not quite as fancy as the Cuban sandwiches of Miami. Also, much less pork-y. Turkey, swiss, pickles, mustard. You could do a simple grilled cheese, or go as fancy as you would like! Get creative.

Put your sandwich together. Then, either spray with cooking spray, or spread with butter. (I found my butter was too cold to spread nicely and it cracked my bread some. I switched to spray.)

Cover with foil, and set the hot iron on top. Check frequently. This side should be golden, brown, and delicious in just a few minutes.

Starting to get all cheesy! Once side 1 is done, flip and repeat on the other side. You may need to turn the temp down some if the bread is cooking quicker than the inside is melting.

Look at that amazing, magical sandwich!

Happily made with my cute little cookie cutter.

He likes it! Mr. Mouse was pretty impressed with my handiwork.

Have you ever cooked with an iron? What do you think you would make? I hear Mice like peanut butter, so maybe a melty, toasty, pbj! Let us know what you are thinking! We want to hear!

Here is my rhino! Ever since we saw rhinos on a night safari at Animal Kingdom, I have been intrigued by them!

Mmmmm! Tasty!
