Avert your eyes if you can’t fathom a microwaved burger. It is wrong. So wrong. But somehow, we made it right. Why? Why would we ever do this?As we covered recently, Disney has microwaves they can bring to your room at your request! So we needed to start microwaving our creative juices into something delicious. If you are going to microwave it, you are going to have to give it a ton of flavor to cover its multitude of sins.Finely diced onion, a small bag of real crumbled bacon, a hefty pinch of salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and a dash of turmeric gave a pound of ground beef the flavor it would need.Dicing more onions up super fine to add on top of the cooked burgers.West Michiganders love olive sauce on their burgers. 4 green olives finely sliced or coarsely diced to a tablespoon of mayo gives you a flavorful condiment.Shape your patties and use your thumb to make a hole in the middle of each one. Come to think of it, these patties would be perfect with a Krispy Kreme bun!You will cook these one at a time in the microwave on a plate with a lip. Cover with a microwave lid if you have it or parchment paper if you don’t.Cook for 45 second to a minute on each side.By the time you get to the last one, your plate won’t be very pretty.I threw the entire tray into the microwave for 30 seconds to rewarm the initial burgers and soften the buns some.Topped with all my favorites: cheese, olive sauce, pickles, diced onions, ketchup, mustardDoesn’t it look yummy? You can see the bacon chunks! It was relatively juicy and delicious. The consensus was…..If we have a grill or stove top available, that will always be our go to, but this will do in a pinch! It is on the menu for our next Disney trip. We are just going to have to clean the microwave out afterwards.
