I love making shirts for vacation. Before our big annual fall vacation, I will spend days painting personal designs on shirts for every single person for every single day.
For this trip, I thought it would be fun to design and decorate shirts while we were actually there. Having a no- park trip, sometimes you need an afternoon craft for while the youngest (and oldest) Mouse naps.
Typically I use fabric paint, but for portability, easy cleanup, and kid friendly, fabric markers are where it is at.
I took contact paper with me. I traced whatever I could find to make appropriately sized Mickey heads.
This looks like it should do.
I folded it in half before cutting to make everything go much quicker.
All positioned on the front of the shirt.
I then put a piece of contract paper inside the shirt so that nothing would bleed through.
Get creative! This is my ode to vacation. Lots of little details along the way.
T. Needed a pirate Mickey!
After you are done, follow the instructions to set your design. My markers tell me to iron or dry on high heat.
Enjoy!
