It was probably time for us to jump on the Toy Story bandwagon. I mean, there are 4 movies. Of which my kids have seen none. They know all the characters. Especially the popular Forky. We love Toy Story land at Hollywood Studios. AND Buzz’s Space Ranger Spin in Tomorrowland at theMagic Kingdom. Gosh, we even stayed in the Toy Story section at All Star Movies. As soon as the new Disney+ comes out, we will remidy this! Maybe in a movie marathon. But for tonight, we watched YouTube videos of people in Toy Story Land.
Tonight, Mr. Mouse was all set to be out with friends. I decided that it was as good of time as any to try out a few fun recipes I had been thinking of.
Pizza Planet Claw Game Pizza
First up is mmicrowave pizza in the silicone bundt pan!
This is pretty easy. Gather up:
- 2 tubes of biscuits
- 1 8oz block mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 stick butter
- 2.5oz bag bacon pieces
- 5oz bag pepperoni (my stomach can only handle the Turkey ones!)
- 3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1T parsley
- 1t onion pwd
- 1t garlic pwd
- 1/4 cup water
- Gallon size zipper top bag
Combine cheeses, seasonings, even meats together in zipper bag.
Quarter biscuits (scissors, a knife, or even hands work well to do this.) Toss in the bag and fully coat with cheese mixture. You may need to break the biscuits apart if they stick together too much.
Carefully dump everything into your silicone bundt. Make sure it is all even in height. Place small pats of butter evenly over the top. Add 1/4 cup water, drizzling evenly over the entire bundt. Microwave 8-10 minutes. Allow to set 5-10 minutes before inverting on to a plate. If there are any undercooked areas at this time, you can microwave a minute or so longer, until cooked.
Ketchup Pizza Sauce
You can quickly make a decent substitute pizza dipping sauce with ketchup! I know, every great deceased Italian pizza chef must be rolling in their graves at the sound of that! Just try, though. Ok?
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2T parmesan cheese
- 1T parsley
- ½t onion pwd
- ½t garlic pwd
- ¼t oregano
- ¼t marjoram
- Salt to taste
Stir well to combine. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds, stir again.
Seriously, it was pretty tasty with the claw pizza!
See, it doesn’t look so bad!
Check out that claw! Coming to get the pizza!
The claw chooses who will go and who will stay! The pepperoni has been chosen!
Alien Salad
As a side dish, we had a bowl full of aliens! Typically, we call this ‘eyeball salad’, but with the addition of mini marshmallows and lime green food coloring we changed it up a bit!
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
- 6-8 drops lime green food coloring
- Green grapes…. errr… alien faces to your liking. We used about 1/2lb.
Stir everything together and enjoy! It is sweet, crunchy, smooth, and fluffy! Definitely a favorite around here!
Hi-Ho Cherry-O Cheesecake Dip with Alphabet Block Dippers
To top everything off, we had a decently light dessert.
- Whipped cream cheese
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- Alphabet cookies
On a small dessert plate, I put about 2oz whipped cream cheese. I then topped it with about ¼ of the can of cherries. We dippedour alphabet cookies into it. Super yummy, super easy, and not overly sweet. It tasted like a fabulous cherry cheesecake with little to no work!
For the life of me, I couldn’t find the letters I needed to spell out Toy Story! Oh well, this is kinda cute!
Handprint Forky
The final part of our evening was set aside for crafting. Each child got their hand traced (when I got to the thumb, I just skipped over it), then glued on eyes, eyebrows (is that what that red thing is?), mouths, and arms. For younger kids, you may want to do the gluing and cutting of shapes. We used:
- White printer paper
- Sharpie
- Scissors
- Extra white paper for Forky eyes
- Red and blue tissue paper
How do you feel about my ketchup pizza sauce? Which Toy Story movie is your favorite? Who is your favorite character?
